You may see the following box appear the first time you run the software. This is normal and should not reappear after the first time you run the application.

You may get a box that appears similar to the one below. This just states that the start times in your grade book don’t match up with today’s date or they don’t match up with the date of the first assignment. We’ll fix that later. Just click OK to get started.

Now we are ready to begin. Click OK on the next box.

You should now have your grade book on your screen. It will not be as blank as the example. Yours should show your class list with their ID numbers. Continue on to the next page to see how to utilize different parts of GradeQuick.

You
need to decide which subject/class you’d like to start with. Click on the word Window in the tool bar. A

We
are now ready to enter grades. If you
click over on the right hand side of the page you will get a box that will appear
like the one below. Click YES to create
a column for entering a grade.

Before
entering grades you need to make sure that you have the correct term. By default the first grade book page will
show a number 4 in the TERM row. This
will need to be changed to a 1 for our 1st quarter. Click in the
box with the 4. When the 4 is
highlighted type in a number 1.

After changing the term to a 1 the EDIT TERM DATES box will appear. You will need to enter the dates for the beginning of each term in the box. The dates for each term are in the graphic below. They are: TERM #1 - 8/27/07 TERM # 2 - 10/27/07
TERM
#3 –

If
you get the following box it means that the date you are entering the grade
does not match the dates that you set up for terms. For example, if you set Term 1 to start on
8/27 and you try to enter a grade before 8/27 you will get the box below. You can change the date for the
assignment. Click the OK button.

To
change the date for the grade you are entering click on the box in the DATE row
and you will get a calendar pop up that you can select the date for the
assign ment.

Now you will need to fill in something in the box in the NAME row. It is best to enter a number in the NAME row because of the way it will appear on Edline to the parents. Put a number 1 to show this is the first assignment in your grade book.

The
next row down is the LONG NAME section where you can describe the
assignment. Click in the LONG NAME
row underneath of the number 1 you
placed in the NAME row and give a description of the
assignment. Since this is a spelling
grade book I’ll name the first assignment TEST #1.

The
next section that needs to be filled in is the box in the CATEGORY row. Since this is a spelling grade book the
category will be titled SPELLING.
Double click on the box in the row and you can type in your category.

The
last thing that needs to be set up before entering grades are poinst
possible. If you click on the box in the
POSSIBLE row it will highlight the box and you can enter the number of points
possible for the assignment.

You
can now enter your grades for each student.

If
you want a checklist with all the kids names click on REPORTS then choose
SPREADSHEETS and then select BLANK SPREAD
SHEETS.
This
is what your spreadsheet will look like except it will have your students names
and ID numbers.

You
do not have to save your grade sheets as they will save automatically. When you are ready to post your grades to
Edline for parents to view you will click on the POST TO EDLINE button.

The
following screen will appear. Click on PRINT
in the tool bar and then select SEND TO EDLINE.
Select
SEND ALL STUDENTS OF CURRENT FILE and select OK.

You
will need to type a description in the second box. You can type the word GRADES in or some other
word of your choosing. Then click SEND
THIS REPORT.

This will take you to the Edline page. Login and your grades will be updated. You will need to repeat the process for your other subjects/classes.
Kindergarten, Primary, Intermediate, and Intervention have different grading scales. To select the grading scale appropriate for you click on GRADING and then SET GRADING SCALE.

You may get a box like the one below. Click OK.

Select
the appropriate grading scale and click OK.

To send an interim report select REPORTS then STUDENT and then MILFORD (PRIMARY) or MILFORD INTERIM REPORT.

Click
OK on the next box.

The
following screen will appear. Be sure
you have the proper term selected.
